Garden Glam LGBTQ+ Editorial Shoot
The inspiration for this shoot began by thinking about visibility for LGBTQ+ couples getting married. It's so important that love is the main focus here. This team of inclusive and LGBTQ+ certified vendors wanted to break away from traditional gender norms when it came to this styled shoot. It's so important as businesses to be inclusive, evolve, and stay relevant in the 21st century.
Michael Bak (he/him/his) owner of Michael B. Anthony Floral and Event Design wanted a concept of juxtaposition that brings two elements together to bring out their differences. As the saying goes, "opposites attract.” The team loved the idea of unexpected elements like champagne tinsel textiles combined with the garden floor below full of moss and a giant mushroom!
Megan Westers (she/her/hers) of Shoreline Event Design and Michael Bak both feel that inclusivity is their main ingredient. They want all couples to express who they are and showcase that on their special day. Together with an all-star vendor team from across the state of Michigan, they want this editorial photo shoot to let all couples know they are in a safe space with them, and that diversity and inclusion is so important when choosing a vendor for your very special day.
