The Wedding-Planning Process
Stressing about the wedding-planning process, or unsure where to start? You don’t have to do it alone! With Shoreline Event Design as your full-service wedding planner, we’ll be with you every step of the way, always advocating for your wishes with all vendors. Offering a client-focused, customized approach, we’re happy to be as hands-on or hands-off with the planning process as you’d like.
Step 1: Getting to Know Each Other
Recently engaged? Congrats! Once you’re ready to start planning, simply fill out an inquiry and we’ll get back to you shortly to schedule a complimentary consultation where we’ll discuss your vision in more detail.
The consultation is just as much about your wedding as it is about getting to know you! We want to know where you went on your first date, what you do for fun, things you love about each other, your aesthetic, and more. All of these things make up who you are as a couple, and we believe that your wedding should reflect that as well.
Located outside of West Michigan? No problem—we’re happy to schedule a Skype or Zoom call! We’re also willing to travel for all necessary appointments and destination weddings.
Step 2: The Logistics
The next step of your planning journey with Shoreline Event Design is outlining the high-level details. We’ll identify your budget, guest count and must-haves, and discuss how we can tie them together. We’ll help you find and and select vendors whose work and personalities mesh well with yours. We’ll identify logistical challenges like gathering the correct permits for site usage, or creating inclement weather plans. We’re here to serve and guide you through every step of the planning process, stress-free.
Step 3: Design
From creating color palates and style guides to sketching and putting together custom creations, we personally select all visual elements to create a seamless, cohesive design. We build site visits into our calendar so that we can identify where to place furniture for best guest flow, or what time the softest sunlight comes through the space for photography. No two weddings we design are the same because no two couples we work with are the same - we keep the things you love and the people you are in mind, along with your chosen location, as we select visuals that inspire you and your guests.
Step 4: Planning Meetings
We’ll continue to touch base monthly (or at a frequency you’re comfortable with), whether it be in-person, conference call or email. We’re always available to chat between our meetings and will be in frequent communication regarding the details of your day and vendor coordination.
Step 5: Execution - Wedding Month!
Yay, wedding month! Our communication will ramp up quite a bit the last few weeks leading up to the wedding, but don’t worry—we’ll ensure every detail is taken care of, leaving you with nothing to do but enjoy your big day!
